2011 AAPS Annual Meeting and Exposition

*This exhibition has ended.*

We will make a presentation on the latest research results for evaluating drugs using our taste sensors at 2011 AAPS annual meeting and exposition, which will be held at Washington Convention Center, Washington, D.C., USA. In the study, different types of orally disintegrating tables (ODTs) including quinine hydrochloride were evaluated by the bitterness sensor BT0, and we found that the resulting outputs have high correlation with the results of sensory test using a calibrated equation for evaluating ODTs added with acesulfame K. This result suggests that this method will also be suited for other ODTs. In addition, we will showcase the Taste Sensing System TS-5000Z at the related exposition, where we will offer the latest solutions on the method of evaluating drug bitterness.

Exhibition Date: October 24 to 27
Location: Washington Convention Center, Washington, D.C., USA
Booth: #547 (Hall A-B)

Poster Sessions: October 26, 1:00 PM - 4:30 PM
Title: Quantitative Determination of Drug Bitterness by Taste Sensing System and Application to Orally Disintegrating Tablets
Speaker: Dr. Masamitsu Hiraoka, R&D division
Poster Number: #W5349 (Hall C)
